As we all know plastic pollution is a global problem and a problematic one. It’s one of the hardest problem to solve as the use of Single Use Plastics has been on the rise.

It normally takes plastic items take up to 1000 years to decompose in landfills. Plastic bags take 10-20 years to decompose, while plastic bottles take 450 years!

In the ocean, plastic pollution impacts sea turtles, whales, seabirds, fish, coral reefs, and countless other marine species and habitats. In fact, scientists estimate that more than half of the world’s sea turtles and nearly every seabird on Earth have eaten plastic in their lifetimes.

Plastic pollution also mars otherwise beautiful beaches, coastlines, and snorkel and dive sites worldwide, even in remote areas such as Midway Atoll.

We want to be part of the solution and not the problem by doing our part to use pouches, below are just few of the WHYS:

  • They offer a lower cost and carbon footprint than traditional glass and rigid plastic liquid containers
  • Use approximately 60 percent less plastic than rigid plastic bottles.
  • Require approximately 50 percent less energy to produce.
  • Generate less CO2 emissions during production.
  • Produce less landfill waste.
  • Require fewer trucks for transportation—reducing fossil fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
  • Use approximately 60 percent less plastic than rigid plastic bottles.
  • Allow for more efficient warehousing since unfilled pouches take up significantly less space than rigid packaging.

We are still constantly looking for ways to totally replace plastic, of course we have found a few, but they were way too expensive for us to use them. None the least it will be one of our company mission to continue our search for a solution.

As you my have noticed that we are still using the gallon bottle, we are in the mist of replacing them with the pouches.

Our pouches are BPA FREE and 100% RECYCLABLE!

In a nutshell, we can stay clean and save the enviroment at the same time.

Cheers,
The Soapy Team 🙂
